Family opens two retail outlets
A new year is bringing a new business venture to one Naples family.
Andre Bichara, 31, Daniel Bichara, 29, and their father Rolando Bichara, 61, are opening two Hand and Stone franchises in Southwest Florida. One is expected to open Jan. 12 in Mercato and the other is expected to open in late January or early February at Coconut Point.
This new venture is largely possible because Rolando, a retired banker from Miami, is providing seed capital for the businesses. The sons have also made investments, and the three will be co- owners for the two locations. They have hired two of Andre and Daniel’s cousins as managers.
It was the family’s life-long passion for massage that prompted them to open this franchise, along with an increased demand for these services. Plus, Andre and Daniel were looking for their own business venture.
“We felt that it was a good opportunity to go into business for ourselves,” Andre said.
And Daniel, who had lived in Orlando for about seven years before recently moving to Naples, thought it was a good opportunity to get involved with his family.
“I really wanted to reconnect close since I was living away from home for so long,” he said.
Hand and Stone, based in Hamilton, N.J., has services such as hot stone massages, cold stone massages, facials and hair removal. The company has about 140 locations in 20 states.
